Song of the Day 04/14/11: Nightwish – Planet Hell

I dont think you can get more EPIC than Nightwish’s album Once. In fact if you think theres a more epic display elsewhere, please post it in the comments. This album just has such an epic operatic tone, and i was so upset that the band lost Tarja after this album. Still I was having a conversation the other day with Joe Marino about its epicness and decided to post up another song off the album. Opera singers, a choir and an orchestra. This music is dangerous because before you know it youre in some medieval battle for middle earth slaying dragons, but hey, at least you’ll look awesome with a soundtrack like this to support you.

 

Current Obsession 03/01/13: Galneryus – Angel Of Salvation

I’m officially putting Song of the Day to rest! My month off in February was so freeing not having to constantly find something to post. That being said, there were a couple time this month where I REALLY REALLY wanted to post on something I was currently obsessed with. Thus: Current Obsession! This section will be very similar to Song of the Day in content while freeing me from having to post on a daily or even weekly basis. This will stand as a free form section where I can basically post on any current obsessions. I’m not even going to reserve this section for songs. Songs, albums, artists, who knows what else? This is basically just a news hub for my mind at the moment! So there you have it.

What’s fitting is that Current Obsession literally just came into being like 10 seconds ago when I heard this 15 minute epic by Galneryus. How have I never discovered this side of J-Rock before??? Symphonic Power Metal + J-Rock vocals??? This song is BEYOND EPIC! Just 15 minutes of assaulting power metal glory. I am obsessed and I havnt even made it through my first full listen of the song yet! (Currently on minute 13!) So yeah, this song just NEEDED to be shared and thus this section of the site is born! Thanks for continuing to support the site!
