Song of the Day 09/18/12: The Cranberries – Zombie

A couple months ago, I was talking with a friend (who’s only two years younger than me) and we got into the topic of zombie’s.  So, I started singing this song and she just looked at me with a blank face.  I know what you’re thinking, “Isaiah, no one ever knows what song you’re singing!”  That may be true, but then I said, “You know! Zombie!”  Blank Stare.  “Doo doo doo doo doo?”  Shaking of head.  “By the Cranberries?”  Never heard of them.  “What???”  That’s why this must go up.  How can you go through life not knowing The Cranberries or “Zombie”?  This song was a staple at Hoffman music sing-a-long parties when I was a kid!  Yes, we had those.  So let this classic take you back to the 90s, a decade of ripped jeans and flannel, and music that was deadly serious.  Did you see how I worked that pun in with deadly and zombies?  Total accident.

Song of the Day 11/21/10: Dropkick Murphys – I’m Shipping Up To Boston

If you haven’t seen the Departed, you may not be obsessed with this song.  It’s one of those uncannily awesome drunken Irish sailor anthems!  To quote a friend, “this song makes me wanna punch a hole in the wall and slam 6 beers.”  For me personally, I started really getting it to it when I was trying to find music to listen to while killing things in Halo.  You’d be surprised how many kills you can rack up in the 2 and half minutes that this song is pumping your blood with super human strength.  Oh, and it’s a great car sing along song, which is one of the reasons it’s song of the day, based on my wonderful friend, Judea’s, reminding.

Don’t forget I have a Personal Band or Album Suggestion section.  Sometimes I get specific band and album requests from close friends and I want to invite you as well.
